Why do we use laminated bamboo?

In the current industrialized world, we cannot help but notice that our forests are disappearing. Trees are essential to modern life not only are they made into paper for bags, boxes, text books… etc. They are also being made into building material, furniture, and other large items. However, with so many uses, human being is cutting down trees faster than trees are able to replenish their numbers. 

One of the solution people have come up with is to use laminated bamboo to make furniture. Unlike regular trees cut down for lumber that requires scores of years of growth to be able to reach usable size. Bamboo plants, a unique hybrid of tree and grass, are ripe and ready to be harvested after 4 years. Also, bamboo plants tend to grow in areas that are hilly and therefore not suitable for growing of foodstuff.
